Professional background

My career has moved across industries and functions, but the transitions have been cumulative. I began in sales and logistics. At Zacks, I moved from client development into trading and operations, then compliance. At BDT, I worked in compliance within a merchant bank spanning private capital and investment banking. At ACA, I continued working in investment-management compliance.

Those roles later informed how I built Apollo: sales helped me enter the market, operations shaped the company's systems, and compliance experience helped me operate in an export-regulated category. After selling Apollo, I began developing Altira around screening and review workflows I had encountered both professionally and as an operator.

Working across functions

Range is useful when it leads to ownership.

I am a generalist by disposition, but range is useful only when it leads to ownership. I do my best work in environments where an important problem remains unresolved and responsibility extends across functions.

At Apollo, I was responsible for the complete operating system of the company: customer development, supplier relationships, inventory, manufacturing, compliance, service, and the eventual sale. At Altira, my work spans product direction, workflow design, interface and data-model decisions, technical implementation, and commercial preparation.

The settings differ, but the pattern is consistent. I learn the domain, locate the constraint that matters, and take responsibility for turning an ambiguous problem into a working system.
